I was at a house party and had these delicious crostini. What are crostini? They literally mean "little crusts" in Italian (singular = crostino). They are an Italian appetizer consisting of small slices of grilled or toasted bread and toppings. The toppings may include a variety of different cheeses, meats and vegetables, olive oil, herbs and sauce.
They were so tasty and looked so easy to make. Each slice of baguette was topped with prosciutto, camembert and slice of apple. After baking them for a few minutes in a heated oven and the cheese is melted, take them out of the oven and sprinkle them with chopped fresh basil...
and drizzle with balsamic vinaigrette:
mmmmm.... so delicious!
