The letter "C" is for the third day of the A-Z Blogger Challenge so here is the Irresistible Candy-Spiced Roasted Almonds. Warning - only proceed to make this if you are ready to binge eat because once you take a bite, you won't be able to stop! Don't say I never warned you ?
This is another super simple yet delicious recipes. All you need are as follows:
4 cups of dried roasted almonds (or any nuts of your choice)
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp ground cumin
¼ tsp cayenne pepper (add more if you like it hot!)
½ cup sugar
¼ cup water
1 TB butter
Cooking Spray
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly coat baking sheet with cooking spray.
Place almonds in a large bowl. Add salt, black pepper, cumin and cayenne paper; toss to coat.
Heat sugar, water and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat
Cook until the butter is melted. Cook another minute and remove from heat.
Slowly pour butter mixture over the bowl of nuts:
and stir to coat:
Transfer nuts to the prepared baking sheet:
and spread into a single layer:
Bake nuts in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Stir nuts until the warm syrup coats every nut. Spread into a single layer, return to the oven, and bake until nuts are sticky and roasted, about 6 minutes. NOTE: Keep a close eye on the nuts at this point, depending on how your oven's like, you want to make sure the nuts don't burn). All done!
Transfer to a serving bowl. Allow to cool before serving.
