Nuit Blanche is a nocturnal outdoor museum / art event that usually takes place at the heart of downtown Toronto, where Canadian and International artists display their creations from sunset 6:51p - sunrise the next day. This year, there were 112 projects created by over 500 artists. This event is also usually sponsored by Scotia Bank.
Each time I visited Nuit Blanche, I'll either get inspired by what some of the things you can use to create beautiful artwork or I actually believe I can easily become an artist too! : )
For example, sock display! This is a display of pairs of socks. I think mine will be more creative by displaying all the singles (you know, the ones that the other matching sock mysteriously disappears .... in the dryer or washer!)
This is a beautiful colourful artwork, made out of................. plastic bags!
Bicycles going both ways...or either way...!
Clocks made out of all sorts of bicycle wheels:
Spray paint a car! I can do that! : )
Huge quilt.....
skirt!Random parade:
Music and dancing everywhere....
Wall to wall centre piece made out of nails:
Political art:
Light up decorative tanks:
Dressed up tree trunks:
No man band:
Remote control cars - real cars:
Ceiling screen:
Famous international art display "Forever Bicycles, 2011 by Ai Weiwei - Beijing, China
And lastly, moving raindrops under the umbrella!
It was midnight and the night was still young but our feet were sore. There were still so many other interesting, weird, cool displays that we didn't even get to see!
'Till next time!
