Hello you! May the fourth be with you lol, I always wanted to say that. Now we got that out of the way, let's get back to our A - Z Blogging Challenge. It is suppose to finish by April 30th and I'm actually a week behind schedule, time just slips by! I was pondering whether to leave it at the letter "S" and call it quits or try to finish off the challenge and feel accomplished and fulfilled... I choose..... the later! It's always satisfying to feel fulfilled.... so let's take a look at what's concealed behind the Tantalizing "T"easing Crowd Pleasing Appetizers..
This is a simple, healthier twist to the nostalgic childhood favourite, catering to the adult taste buds of course!.
All you need are as follows:
4 Slices of Harvarti Jalapeño cheese
4 Slices of Cob's Chia Whole Wheat Bread (or any other bread you prefer that is not made from white flour : )
butter
Directions:
Heat up your pan or in this case, the Foreman Grill. In the meantime, butter the bread and place the cheese in the middle. The key is to make sure the buttered side is on the OUTSIDE so it'll be nice and crispy afterwards. Place it on the grill and close the lid. Let it grill for 4 minutes.
Mmmmm... but DON'T eat it just yet.....!
Remove the crusts and cut into four triangles:
NOW you can have a bite... mmmmmmmmmm... gooey with a hint of spiciness on the inside, buttery and crispy on the outside...
Inari Sushi is traditionally made out of sushi floured rice wrapped with sweet, seasoned tofu skin pockets. Instead of using white rice, I like to up the nutritional value by replacing some white rice with glutinous black rice or sticky black rice.
All you need are as follows:
½ cup of sushi grade white rice
½ cup of glutinous black rice or sticky black rice
1 package of seasoned tofu skin package (it includes inari age - fried tofu packets, a vinegar-based sauce and a packet of dried seasoning
Directions:
Cook rice per package instructions. Add seasoning in the tofu skin package and keep it aside to cool.
Cut the tofu pockets in half:
Stuff it tightly with rice
And ready to eat! If you have never tried this before, you should! mmmmmmmm.........
Which one would you pick?
'Till next time,
xox Lily
